My story begins with a bottle of Vodka.
I rarely drink (maybe a couple drinks a year), as I spent most of high school to 23 partying. I wouldn't be able to keep up with my younger self. About 10 years ago a patient that was dying of brain cancer went on a final trip - a cruise to Canada. She was excited about bringing back (smuggling as she put it) big bottles of duty free alcohol. She insisted that even though I didn't drink much, I needed a [big] bottle... she loved spreading joy - I can still hear her infectious laugh:)
Grey Goose it is! I never opened the bottle until I needed rubbing alcohol & couldn't get it at the start of the pandemic. But I used that bottle daily prior to my wound care. It is still in my freezer!
Every morning when I'd get up to make coffee I would stand at the freezer with a bottle of Grey Goose pressed against my tired, puffy eyes!... soothing....a daily habit was created! Eventually I would buy ice eye masks so I could crawl back into bed & drink my coffee (i insist on being "lazy" in bed every morning).
Fast forward to today...I get up very early (5:30) ice my eyes, drink my coffee, meditate, practice a Face Yoga Pose or 2, use my gua sha tools & do a few breaths of Cat/Cow Pose - all in my bed, all before I get up to get ready for work. My beauty & "lazy" morning needs are met all before 7am.
